Getting Ready Pinhole Photo Day

I have been a big fan of pinhole photography since the early 90s when I built my first camera in art school from an oatmeal canister. I went to the marina and photo of a boat. I had a great conversation with the sailboats owner and told me if a good picture came out that he would like a copy.
After I exposed the first print I went straight to the darkroom at school and processed the paper and made my first print. I kept my word and brought the print a couple of hours later and the guy handed me a twenty-dollar bill. I tried to refuse. but he wouldn’t take no for answer. My first sale! Sadly, I no longer have the picture of the boat. =(

World Pinhole Photo Day is on 29 April 2012. I own a custom-built 4×5 pinhole camera, but this year I will shoot with a modified Koni-Omega. Here are some pictures of what I did.

This is pretty much a hacking together scenario.. That just makes it more fun though.

Check out my pinhole gallery here.

Boulder Creek Day

I photographed this series on a Canon Powershot G3 and converted to B&W in GIMP for Ubuntu.

World Wide Pinhole Photo Day, Just Sayin’!

Sadly, I do not take part every year, but this year I will be out for this glorious day.
