I have not talked to my friend Haven in a few years. Haven and I were housemates for about a year, back in the late ’90s early 2000. She brought to the home a wonderful bassett hound. his name was Wilbur. She told me today Wilbur past away last week.

Some you guys know how I felt about that guy.. He became a great buddy.. We’ll miss him.

Two nights with Ween at the Filmore should never be taken too lightly. You walk in refreshed and charged and you walk out completely exhausted.

This time was no different, though I will admit that Wednesday night was not the best show that Ween ever put on. It was a good show, and they played tunes that they rarely play live, which is fantastic. They just did not seem to be at the top of their game.

Thursday night with Ween was an epic event. I don’t recall ever seeing a better show. I thought the second show in Boulder a few years back was the best show I had seen, Last night took that top spot for me. I am not saying I have seen a lot of Ween shows, but I have to say this was the best one yet. The set list seemed to be a Top 40 of their most popular songs, and they were executed with utter mastery. They get better each year. Perhaps I appreciate them more, but they never rest on their laurels. They bust ass out on that stage for three hours a night. They played a few new songs mixed in with some solid favorites like Piss up a Rope and Gabriel as well as Scrape the Mucas from My Brain. Last night they showed the world they’re not joking about this rock music thing. We could expect to see these guys on the rock scene for years to come.
